hi I have not been diagnosed with chiari's but i'm pretty sure I have
chiari 1. (i have mri's and symptoms)
anyways i was wondering if anyone has bad posture and if this is
related to chiari. when i try to have good posture i can do it for a
little bit then it feels like my bones are crushing in and i can no
longer do it.

i have bad posture, always had it, as a child
everyone told me to stand up straight, but i really cant
they checked us in 7th grade for scoliosis, and said i do NO have it
i do have chiari 1 7mm
here is a good chiari syjptpms paper,
your brain MRI shouls say if you have chiari
make sure you get at least 2 brain mri, from 2 different medical iamging places, as they use different words for the "chiari" or makes mistakes
i got 3 and each said different
1st said 5mm chiari 1 malformaiton
2nd said 7mm low lying tonsils but did NOT mention the word chiari
3rd said DOES NOT MEET THE CRITERIA FOR CHIARI
so, see how wacked out it can be! if you have these symptms, and they have tested your blood, heart, etc and cant find diagnosis, as they did to me, I would pursue the brain mri, it took me a year, to ge a diagnosis, and this was before I ever knew of the word chiari, all I know is I was falling down, dizzy, pain in head/neck, trmors, chest pain, shortness of breath, few panick attacks, blurry vision, and about 35 more symptms.
take care and hang in there!

Courtney, my daughter has SERIOUS issues with posture - her belly and bottom stick out and she physically cannot tilt her pelvis to pull them in. I'm wondering if she has a tethered spinal cord (nothing showed on MRI) and maybe her spinal cord can't stretch that way. I've been working with her about her posture for like 5 years now and we've made NO progress at all. I would definitely be talking with your doctor about it. Have you tried physical therapy? (we have, no help) It could be muscular, in which case PT would help you train your muscles into proper position. Get your ACM diagnosed first, but mention this at your appointment - it could be important. Good luck,
